SITE
A concrete wall at the foot of the treatment chairs in the operatories at Brooks Dental Studio in Tacoma, Washington.

PROGRAM
In keeping with the concept for the other public spaces in her office, our client wanted to have fresh flowers in each of the patient treatment operatories. Because the side & head cabinets and counters were dedicated to treatment services, the only surface available was the concrete wall at the foot of the chair.

SOLUTION
Maintaining the elemental quality of the timber, concrete, and steel of the space, a bent steel plate with three off-center holes is bolted to the sandblasted wall. Evoking the qualities of the dental equipment and practice, a rubber o-ring cushions a clear test-tube filled with water. The flower is just a flower.
